Abnormal
Abnormal AI, the email and identity security company, was six weeks from go-live on another procurement platform when it changed course. The team picked Omnea because it fit where the business would be in two to three years. Six weeks after selection, more than six workflows were live, each with its own approvals, and Abnormal was already querying its procurement data through AI assistants.

Six weeks from go-live on the wrong platform
Abnormal AI protects businesses from email and identity attacks that look exactly like a normal invoice, login or request from a colleague. Its platform learns what normal looks like for each organisation, so anything that deviates stands out. That only works if the model keeps pace with how fast normal changes, and Abnormal's leadership applies the same rule to everything it buys: buy for where the business is going, as well as where it is today.
Ashim Kapai, Head of Procurement and Accounts Payable, held the procurement stack to that standard. By the time he did, a rollout on another platform was six weeks from going live. It would have got Abnormal through go-live. Kapai needed a platform that would still make sense in two or three years, with the company growing fast.
An AI-native company can't plan around yesterday's roadmap
As an AI-native business, Abnormal expects every function to move fast, procurement included. Speed to value sits at the centre of how it judges any investment. When Kapai asked vendors about AI capabilities, most pointed to long timelines. By the time those features shipped, he expected the market to have moved on to the next wave.
“In a market moving this quickly, you can't afford to plan around yesterday's roadmap.”

Solution
Pivoting before go-live instead of a year later
Abnormal made the call to switch to Omnea before go-live. Kapai's reasoning was simple: changing course later would cost more, and implementing a system only to rip it out a year later was the worst outcome. Omnea gives every stakeholder, from requesters to legal, finance, information security and IT, a view of exactly what they need on supplier relationships, spend, risk and governance. Kapai found it future-focused, intuitive for end users, and transparent in the way stakeholders now expect.
“We made the decision to pivot to Omnea because it aligned more closely with our long-term vision.”

A proof of concept that became the implementation
Omnea proof of concepts usually prove out a few use cases and show customers what is technically possible. Abnormal wanted more. The team needed to see that Omnea could handle its current operations and keep evolving alongside AI. So the planned six-week proof of concept became a full implementation from day one.
Shane Gueret, Head of Implementations at Omnea, and his team deployed more than six workflows across the company, each with its own approval structure, business requirements and emerging AI use cases. The work went beyond software: it meant rethinking parts of the operating model itself, then working backwards from the end state day by day.
An implementation team that doesn't outsource
Omnea is fully no-code, so Gueret's team builds most of the configuration itself instead of waiting on engineering. The same team builds custom integrations and runs change management, which keeps the knowledge in-house and the team close to each customer's policies and edge cases.
“We don't outsource. We take it all on ourselves. That means we retain the knowledge and get incredibly close to our customer's businesses and unique challenges.”

Results
Live in six weeks, without cutting corners
Abnormal went from selection to go-live in six weeks and hit every milestone along the way, with governance, quality and stakeholder engagement intact. Kapai has described it as one of the fastest enterprise implementations he has been part of. Speed alone wasn't the goal. Executive sponsorship, cross-functional alignment, training and clear communication from end users to the leadership team carried the rollout as much as the platform did.
AI in daily use from the start
Omnea was the first procurement platform to launch a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector. It lets procurement teams ask questions about supplier, contract and spend data in plain language through assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot, instead of switching between systems or building reports by hand. Abnormal deployed it internally and is already seeing the benefit.
“We've already deployed it internally and have seen tangible benefits.”

A procurement function built to keep changing
Adoption across the teams using the new workflows has been strong. More importantly, Abnormal now runs a procurement operating model that can scale with the business and absorb the next wave of AI without another rip-and-replace. Both teams see the six-week go-live as the start of the work.
