Omnea launches the Agentic Operating System for procurement

An intelligent system that gives people and AI agents one place to manage suppliers, built on a Context Engine that improves with every approval, rejection and negotiation.

LONDON, 28 September 2026 — Omnea today launched the Agentic Operating System (aOS) for procurement, giving enterprise teams and AI agents one place to manage suppliers across intake, sourcing, contracting, third-party risk management (TPRM) and supplier management. The aOS is built on a Context Engine, with a library of pre-configured agents running on top and the customer's controls around both.

Omnea built the aOS to succeed the heavy, rigid procure-to-pay (P2P) systems most enterprises have run since the early 2000s, and the newer but already seemingly outdated intake and orchestration tools bolted on top of them.

"Legacy P2P is dying, and orchestration alone is not enough," said Ben Freeman, CEO and co-founder of Omnea. "The last wave of intake platforms made procurement faster but not smarter, and some that launched only four years ago already feel like legacy technology. The system that comes next has to build context and improve itself with every approval, rejection and negotiation, rather than automate busywork with bots. Our agents run on leading AI models, but that’s not what makes them special. What makes them different is what they know about how your organisation actually buys."

The Context Engine is the backbone of the aOS. It structures data from intake, approvals, rejections, policies and other internal and external sources, so every agent works from what the organisation has already decided and improves with every cycle. Its job is as much what it withholds as what it supplies: each agent sees only the context it needs to best perform a given task.

The Agent Library is a pre-configured set of agents across intake, sourcing, contracting, TPRM and supplier management. Each agent selects the right AI model for its task and returns finished work tied to a specific request: a draft request ready for submission, a decision-grade escalation, a routed contract. Omnea customers can use agents that review and improve new intake requests, suggest and execute workflow improvements, benchmark pricing with data from Tropic, query Dow Jones on supplier exposure, escalate third-party risks and prepare teams for upcoming renewal negotiations. The agents get better the more a team uses them: the Intake Review Agent, for example, learns from real amendment data and edits itself to catch more errors and inconsistencies.

Governance wraps both. Customers set the level of autonomy for each agent and workflow by category, value or data sensitivity, so an agent can draft and route a low-risk renewal unattended while high-value contracts always go to the team for review. The aOS logs every action by a person or an agent against the request it belongs to, with the rationale and the source data behind it.

"'We just trusted the model' is not an answer a CPO can bring to an auditor," Freeman added. "The aOS brings leading AI models inside the system where the controls already live, so teams never have to choose between moving fast and staying governed."

Adyen, which processes more than $1 trillion in payment volume a year, built a procurement team in February 2024 and bought a legacy source-to-pay tool. Within a year the system was live but people avoided it, and a team of 21 was still manually shepherding hundreds of requests a month. Adyen chose Omnea at the end of 2025, went live 16 weeks later across almost 5,000 employees in 29 offices, and let the legacy contract lapse, moving the rest of its flow onto Omnea. Average end-to-end cycle times have fallen from 18–32 days to 10–20 days, an estimated 45% reduction across all workflows.

"We set out to find a partner who could take us further on automation and embedded AI," said Gabriel Galdino, Procurement Team Lead at Adyen. "We ended up removing the legacy system entirely and integrating Omnea directly with our ERP. Everything runs in Omnea now, and we're building agents the old system could never have supported. We can keep iterating on them to get increasingly better results over time."

The Agentic Operating System for procurement is available to Omnea customers from today. Book a demo.
